ORCHHA NARRATIVE final.png
The Raja Ram Mandir earlier had two of the same decorative domes on the main entry gate but were removed due to some unknown reasons.
The shopkeepers of the plaza rightly call the locals and sometimes also drag them in their shops due to the familiarity grown over the time.

The Chaturbhuj Temple is (a blend of) shows evidences of being influenced by different architectural styles. The layout is similar to that of a church, the interior and the dome reflects mughal architectural style whereas the outer skin of the structure relates to Nagara style.
The market besides the Chaturbhuj temple, has a strong community between the shopkeepers. Once during an open market day, one of the shopkeepers passed away, so the entire market was kept closed, though a very important festival was approaching.
The aisle which connects to Macchli Darwaza to the Chaturbhuj Market has houses all along. All the houses belong to the same family, and have grown gradually along the aisle as the family increased. While, 2 of those houses are given for rent to wholesalers, as the owners migrated to a different place. One of it runs tuition classes.
There are rumors that the Market in front of the Chaturbhuj temple will be cleared to allow a clear view of the temple and develop tourist attractions around the space.

The machhli gate which was like a watchtower back in the day, saw regular movement of people and animal transport through it to the fort bridge.
Even buses would pass through easily.
But the paving of roads, made the height so small (theory)
that buses now stop at ram raja tenple.
The north south road connects the fort area of Orchha to the major highways see a constant growth in density with shops clustering around its sides.
The Grahak Panchayat office, as we know today, on the other side of the moat and Orchha Fort; used to be a stable house for the Bundeli Cavalry.
A natural moat forms between the Orchha Fort and the town dwelling, which homes crocodiles and dense seaweed.
During the time of a siege, there were was a secret way to fall the middle part of the bridge (that the bridge had explosives within); thus protecting the fort from its attackers.
Help Dogs India Gift shop, as it calls itself, is an antique store with articles several centuries old, pets and takes care of several injured street dogs. A young pup with amputated legs rests in a little box in the middle of the items on display.

A passage which the local aunty said was a maze and if you enter it you wouldn't return ,
turned out to be a maintenance room
This wall also works as a walk way which is used to go to the balcony type areas but could also send to the hospital if you lose your balance

An underground passages lies here which leads a large creepy basement shown by the local kids
We know its a garden but all the gates to enter it is shut for some reason but when has that stopped us. Families still enter it by hopping the fence
The walls of this house is used for a lot reason one of which is to hold a god's figurine inside of it but they also wash utensils Infront it
The roof and its supports are built in a very primitive way as its also supported by the branches of a tree . Quite a unique thing to see nowadays
An abonded house lays here and know really knows who stayed there or who it actually belongs to . Till this date it remains a mystery
There exists a 50 feet basement under the courtyard in front of the Jujhar Mahal that was used by the king to disscuss trivial matters with his loyal courtiers as the whole space is sealed along with the voice amplification that it provides.
We met a woman who was a localite and knew to speak in foreign languages such as English,French,German etc in her pastime.
It appears to be a huge column or an accessible space from the other side, but eventually we realize that there is only one way inside which is also covered by a wall and the space turns out to be an octagonal well.

There’s a small child in the Harijan Colony, around the age of three, known as Buppa, who demands money from everyone in the village, oftentimes stopping people on their way to work and going through their pockets. This habit of his, though actually problematic, has led to him being fondly called as the ‘little goon of the village’ by everyone in the colony.
The houses on the southern edge of the Harijan Colony which are not a part of the Indira Awas Yojna are of a similar type as those in the colony. They did so with the hopes that when the government comes back to the place with a new development scheme, their houses would be considered as a part of the colony too and they’d get the benefits of the scheme too.
Nisha and her family own another house in Orchha. The new house comes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, which has more space with better services. Though they really want to move to that house, the fact that it is far away from the school, which is a two minute walk from their current residence, stops them from moving.
